Indonesia Braces for Rain Across Several Regions on September 15, BMKG Issues Advisory

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that a number of regions in Indonesia are potentially experiencing rain with varying intensities on Tuesday, September 15. Meanwhile, a number of other major cities are predicted to experience cloudy to cloudy weather. BMKG Praktirawan Ranika said moderate rain was potentially occurring in Tanjung Selor, North Kalimantan. Meanwhile, light rain is expected to rain on Banda Aceh, Medan, Bandar Lampung, and Pontianak. "Meanwhile, light rain is predicted to occur in Banda Aceh, Aceh; Medan, North Sumatra; Bandar Lampung, Lampung; and Pontianak, West Kalimantan," said Ranika, quoted by Antara, Tuesday morning. In the western region of Indonesia, BMKG predicts heavy cloudy weather in a number of cities, including Pekanbaru, Tanjung Pinang, Jambi, Bengkulu, Jakarta, Serang, Bandung, Semarang, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, and Samarinda. In addition, hazy air is potentially occurring in Padang, Palembang, Pangkalpinang, and Banjarmasin. Meanwhile, Palangka Raya has the potential to experience smoke or fog. Moving to eastern Indonesia, light rain is predicted to occur in Mamuju, Ambon, Nabire, and Jayawijaya. Meanwhile, sunny to cloudy weather is predicted to occur in Denpasar, Mataram, Makassar, Kupang, and Gorontalo. Similar conditions are also potentially occurring in Manado, Ternate, Sorong, Manokwari, Jayapura, and Merauke. BMKG also predicts hazy air in Palu, Central Sulawesi, as well as Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi.
