Vietnam National Assembly Chairman Urges New Leadership to Build Development-Oriented Legal System

At a training course for candidates of the 14th Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man strongly urged participants to shift their thinking towards building a legal and institutional framework with a "development-creating" perspective. Chairman Man delivered a special lecture to the trainees, who are candidates for the Central Committee, at the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics. He emphasized the high determination of the entire Party and the decisive action of each Party member and cadre. In particular, he stated that those in leadership positions should be aware of their heavy responsibilities and have their capabilities measured by concrete results. He also urged leaders to demonstrate a sense of responsibility and proactivity in implementing directives and resolutions. This is based on the recognition that the development of the legal system is indispensable for Vietnam to maintain economic growth and ensure social stability. Within the one-party system, continuing economic reforms (Doi Moi) and maintaining and developing relations with the international community require the quality of leadership and decision-making of the leadership stratum. This training is linked to the renewal of the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and the new leadership stratum is expected to be responsible for more effective policy implementation to achieve the Party's goals. In particular, amid the complex relationship with China and the increasing economic influence in the region, the development of the domestic legal system will be the foundation for attracting foreign investment and achieving sustainable economic growth.
