El Niño to Intensify in PH Starting August, Chances Above 60%
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) forecasts a greater than 60% chance of El Niño intensifying from August onwards, potentially lasting until early 2027. Stronger El Niño conditions could lead to heavy rainfall in some areas and prolonged dry spells.
