Cambodia: Pailin Province Holds Party Meeting for 2027 Commune Election Preparations

The Cambodian People's Party (CPP) Pailin Provincial Branch held a meeting on September 5, 2026, to disseminate plans for the 6th mandate Commune/Sangkat Council election in 2027. The meeting, held at the provincial party headquarters, was presided over by HE Yi Chhean, head of the party's provincial working group. The event was attended by HE Dr. Bam Sreymom, a member of the CPP Central Committee and Chairwoman of the CPP Pailin Provincial Committee, along with provincial party leaders, members of the provincial working group, and party officials from all levels across the province. HE Dr. Bam Sreymom highlighted the numerous achievements of the CPP, urging all party members to enhance dissemination through all means to ensure the public is better informed and continues to trust the CPP by voting to support the party's continued leadership of the government. She called on all working groups at every level, from provincial to village, to be consistently present in their localities, pay attention to fulfilling the needs of the people, avoid local grievances, and intervene to resolve various issues in a timely manner. She particularly urged all party members to unite with determination to bring brilliant success to the party in the upcoming 6th mandate Commune/Sangkat Council election in 2027. HE Yi Chhean expressed his admiration and high appreciation for the Pailin Provincial Administration, the working groups, and all levels of the party across the province for their commitment to implementing the party's political programs, decisions, and guidelines with a high sense of responsibility. He also commended their efforts in actively fostering political movements in all localities, in good cooperation with authorities and security forces, to connect with people from all walks of life. Furthermore, HE Yi Chhean instructed the provincial party standing committee to strengthen the officials working at the provincial party headquarters, enabling them to serve as a general staff for managing party affairs in the process towards the election. They are also tasked with monitoring, inspecting, evaluating, and summarizing the situation in the province and the implementation of the action plan and work calendar towards the 6th mandate Commune/Sangkat Council election, providing directives for highly effective implementation.
