Vietnam Tourism Boosted as International Flights Resume with Direct Route to Da Lat

Lien Khuong Airport in Lam Dong province, Vietnam, has resumed international scheduled flights from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on September 2. This marks the first international arrival since the airport reopened after a period of temporary closure for runway repairs. At 10:58 AM, AirAsia flight AK571 landed at Lien Khuong Airport from Kuala Lumpur, carrying 137 passengers. Approximately 40 minutes later, flight AK572 departed from Da Lat to Kuala Lumpur, signifying the official restoration of regular international flight services between Da Lat and the Malaysian capital. The resumption of international flights is expected to significantly improve accessibility for tourists from Malaysia and other international visitors to Da Lat, a popular highland resort destination. It will also strengthen connectivity between Lam Dong province and Malaysia, as well as with other key tourism markets in Southeast Asia. According to the Lam Dong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the revival of this route, coinciding with Vietnam's National Day on September 2, is anticipated to diversify the international tourist market, promote the destination, and enhance Da Lat's links with regional tourism hubs. The project to repair the runway and taxiways at Lien Khuong Airport was completed and put into operation on August 19.
