People's Party Reconstitutes Central Executive Committee

The People's Party's Central Executive Committee has been reconstituted, People's Party General Secretary U Kyaw Lin told One News. This announcement was made after the People's Party's first congress and fourth central committee meeting, held on September 12 at the Sky Star Hotel in Tamwe Township, Yangon. During the first congress and fourth central committee meeting, participants from various states and regions submitted reports, and central committee members and central executive committee members were re-elected. According to People's Party General Secretary U Kyaw Lin, the People's Party Central Committee has been formed with a total of 126 central committee members, including 17 central executive committee members and 3 alternate central executive committee members. As the former People's Party Chairman U Ko Ko Gyi has become a member of the State Administration Council, the current Vice Chairman U Pe Thet has taken over the duties of the Chairman, and the reconstitution has been carried out. It was learned that during the first congress and fourth central committee meeting, a review and analysis report on the 2025 general election was presented, along with paper presentations by congress delegates and discussions supporting the congress proposals. At the meeting, it was decided to proceed with gradual amendments to the Constitution, the supreme law of the land, aiming for democracy and federalism, in order to resolve political issues legally. It was also decided to support and assist efforts to facilitate political dialogues, including the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement, and to identify and present the demands of the people regarding public service sectors such as security, economy, development, education, and health.
