Vietnam Communist Party Launches New Plan to Promote Ho Chi Minh Ideology
Vietnam's Communist Party has announced a new plan to promote the study and practice of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, methods, and style, aiming to continue guidance in a "new development phase."
The Secretariat of the Communist Party of Vietnam has issued Plan No. 91-KH/TW, dated September 15, 2026, to promote the study and practice of President Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, methods, and style in a "new development phase." This plan is an implementation of Directive No. 07-CT/TW from the Politburo on "Promoting the Study and Practice of Ho Chi Minh's Ideology, Ethics, Methods, and Style in the New Development Phase." The initiative underscores the enduring influence of Ho Chi Minh in the founding and development of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, encouraging party members and the entire population to emulate his teachings in their actions. Specifically, it aims to enhance learning motivation by sharing practical examples through the recognition of exemplary individuals. Previously, 136 "ordinary but noble" role models were honored, and their achievements have been widely disseminated. This effort highlights the importance of ideological education within Vietnam's one-party system. As Vietnam continues its economic growth, the Party places a strong emphasis on ideological unity and social stability, with Ho Chi Minh's thought serving as its core. This plan can also be interpreted as part of the country's strategy to strengthen domestic cohesion and enhance Vietnam's standing in the international community.
