Vietnam Enhances Support for Students in Border and Island Areas, Focuses on Regional Development

Vietnam is strengthening support for students residing in its border and island regions. On September 22, in Dong Thap province, the "Fund for Youth in Highlands and Islands" and the "Club for Beloved Hoang Sa-Truong Sa" organized a member gathering to commemorate the 12th anniversary of the club's establishment (August 1, 2014 - August 1, 2026). During this event, scholarships for the 2026-2027 academic year and "Houses of Solidarity" were presented to residents of Dong Thap and Vinh Long provinces. Under Vietnam's one-party system, the nation is pursuing policies that balance economic growth with social welfare improvement. Investment in geographically disadvantaged areas is particularly crucial for enhancing the living standards of the entire population. The construction of an industrial park in Dong Thap province, aimed at revitalizing the regional economy and creating 20,000 jobs, is seen as part of this national strategy, contributing to the realization of Vietnam's goal of a "progressive and prosperous society." Furthermore, the province is also engaged in initiatives such as a competition aimed at promoting the spirit of the rule of law and programs supporting the social integration of people with disabilities. Dong Thap province is also focusing on attracting international tourists by leveraging its unique tourism resources and enhancing global promotion efforts. These activities reflect Vietnam's commitment to diversifying its regional economy and strengthening international cooperation.
