Khanh Hoa Province Strengthens Dam and Reservoir Safety Ahead of Flood Season

Khanh Hoa Province in south-central Vietnam is proactively strengthening its safety management system for dams and reservoirs in preparation for the 2026 flood season. In this region, heavy rainfall can cause water levels in reservoirs to rise rapidly, increasing pressure on the structures themselves and downstream areas. In response, Khanh Hoa Province is accelerating inspections, reinforcement work, and the formulation of operational plans, with the goal of early risk identification and management. This initiative is crucial not only for ensuring infrastructure safety but also for protecting the lives and property of local residents. Under Vietnam's one-party system, infrastructure development and safety management are considered vital national responsibilities, and planned, swift responses are particularly required in areas with high natural disaster risks. Khanh Hoa Province is also preparing evacuation plans for residents during the flood season, establishing a system ready for any eventuality.
