Two Massage Parlors Raided in Phnom Penh Suspected of Prostitution, 37 Detained

Two massage parlors in the heart of Cambodia's capital, Phnom Penh, have been raided by authorities on suspicion of offering sexual services and employing minors. A total of 37 individuals, both male and female, have been detained as a result of the operation. The establishments, identified as "Fem Dim" and "Red Roman," were located in close proximity to each other. The raid was conducted by the Directorate of Anti-Human Trafficking and Juvenile Protection. The operation commenced in the early hours of September 8th, around 12:30 AM. The location of the raid is along Street 130 and Street 136 in Phsar Kandal 1 district, Phnom Penh. According to residents living and operating businesses near Street 130 and Street 136, these massage parlors had been exhibiting irregular activities for a long time. They were known to welcome foreign customers late into the night or until dawn, with young women often seen waiting outside the establishments for clients. During the incident, law enforcement officers secured all entry and exit points to the premises, swiftly entering and inspecting both "Fem Dim" and "Red Roman" to prevent any escape. Currently, the 37 individuals apprehended have been transferred to the General Commissariat of National Police for further questioning and legal proceedings under the purview of the Directorate of Anti-Human Trafficking and Juvenile Protection.
