Some locals are fleeing due to airstrikes and arson by the military in Yedashe

AYEYARWADDY TIMES (Yedashe), July 8 Due to the military's indiscriminate airstrikes and arson in villages within Yedashe Township, Bago Region, following losses sustained in clashes, locals have been forced to flee their homes, according to sources. On July 7, the military dropped two 500-pound bombs from the air on the Gutaung monastery in Natchaung village, Yedashe Township, causing the destruction of pagodas and the collapse of the Dhamma Hall. "There have been many drops on civilian targets. Yesterday, a monastery was bombed, and two school buildings and some pagodas were destroyed. Furthermore, villages are being attacked daily without interruption by aircraft, drones, and heavy weapons. They are burning villages and stealing goods. The number of displaced people is increasing," a soldier named Latya from the People's Defence Force, Naypyidaw Command, told the Ayeyarwaddy Times. The Provisional Government Army has been conducting excessive offensives from the air after suffering losses in the clashes that occurred on June 18 in Kyunhkon village and Pitaukone village, and has burned down nearly all of these two villages, according to a statement released by Yedashe PDF. Due to the military's advance and bombing with drones and aircraft, locals from around 20 villages have been displaced and are in need of food, medicine, and shelter. The Provisional Government Army began advancing into Yedashe Township on June 3, engaging in clashes with revolutionary forces, and also burned down Pitaukone village on June 8.
