Cambodian Senate Delegation Delivers Humanitarian Aid to Kampong Speu Province in Partnership with Korean Foundation
A delegation from the Cambodian Senate's Committee for Examination, Cleaning, and Anti-Corruption delivered humanitarian aid, including approximately $600,000 worth of medicine, to Kampong Speu province. This initiative, in collaboration with South Korea's Global Life Sharing foundation, aims to improve the well-being of vulnerable populations.
A delegation from the Senate's Committee for Examination, Cleaning, and Anti-Corruption (Committee 10), led by its chairman, H.E. Mam Bun Neang, along with H.E. Sok Somnang, Assistant to the President of the Senate and representative of the Global Life Sharing Foundation of the Republic of Korea, visited Kampong Speu province to deliver valuable gifts from the President of the Senate and the President's wife, as well as humanitarian aid from the Global Life Sharing Foundation. The donation was presented to the Kampong Speu Provincial Administration, led by H.E. Dr. Cham Chansophoan, Governor of Kampong Speu Province, at the Provincial Hall on July 20, 2026. During the occasion, the Governor of Kampong Speu Province warmly welcomed the delegation from Committee 10 of the Senate and provided a brief report on the progress in all sectors, challenges faced, and efforts to resolve various issues at the local level. Speaking at the event, H.E. the Chairman of Committee 10 of the Senate expressed his admiration and high appreciation for the provincial leadership and all officials of the Kampong Speu Provincial Administration for their diligent performance of duties, especially in providing public services to the people and developing the locality effectively. H.E. the Chairman also conveyed the regards and well wishes from H.E. the President of the Senate and his wife, First Vice-President H.E. Uch Borith, and Second Vice-President H.E. Dr. Thon Vathana, to the leadership, civil servants of all levels, and all citizens in Kampong Speu Province. H.E. Mam Bun Neang further stated that the 5th mandate Senate, under the wise and intelligent leadership of H.E. Prime Minister Hun Sen, President of the Senate, has set two main work priorities: 1. Closer interaction with constituents and 2. Strengthening parliamentary diplomacy, in addition to existing functions such as legislation, law monitoring, and representation. H.E. the Chairman emphasized that with the high permission from the Senate leadership and effective cooperation with the Global Life Sharing Foundation of the Republic of Korea, the delegation of Committee 10 of the Senate has brought gifts from the President of the Senate and the Global Life Sharing Foundation, consisting of medicines for general illnesses, valued at approximately over 600,000 US dollars, to the Kampong Speu Provincial Administration. This is to contribute to improving the well-being of all poor and vulnerable people, as well as refugees in Kampong Speu Province. It is recalled that Committee 10 of the Senate and the Global Life Sharing Foundation of the Republic of Korea have signed Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) on the provision and receipt of humanitarian aid, including medicines, medical equipment, clothing, and daily necessities, on three occasions, totaling 65 million US dollars. As of July 2026, the Global Life Sharing Foundation has provided humanitarian aid to the Senate of Cambodia on 22 occasions, with a total value of 33,328,839.23 US dollars. All humanitarian aid is managed and distributed by the Senate leadership to various capitals, provinces, hospitals, health centers, vulnerable people, especially refugees along the Cambodia-Thailand border, with transparency, accountability, and targeted delivery, in order to contribute to improving the well-being of the Cambodian people, in line with the noble aspirations of the Senate and the Global Life Sharing Foundation.
