Former Monk Faces Trial in Cambodia for Inciting Social Unrest
A former monk, Chea Vuthy, 27, is on trial in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, for allegedly inciting social unrest through social media in 2025. He was arrested on April 1, 2025, in Battambang province and is currently detained at PJ Prison in Phnom Penh. The trial began on August 6, with a verdict expected on August 19.
