Kratie Province Opens Bidding for Over 1km Concrete Road Construction Project

The administration of Darl commune, Krachie district, Kratié province, officially opened bidding for a reinforced concrete road construction project totaling 1.075 kilometers on July 24, 2026. The project includes plastic asphalt surfacing before concrete pouring, with an estimated cost of 595,310,781 Riel (approximately $140,000 USD). According to Mr. Chheang Wat, the commune chief of Darl, the reinforced concrete road will be built in Khnong Po village. The specific sections put up for bidding today include one segment of 0.022 kilometers with a width of 5.5 meters, and another segment of 0.855 kilometers with a width of 5 meters, which will also feature plastic asphalt surfacing before concrete pouring. Mr. Chheang Wat further explained that Khnong Po village is located along the Te River, an area prone to flooding during the rainy season. The majority of residents are farmers, cultivating various crops such as corn, soybeans, sesame, cassava, and sugarcane. This road serves as a crucial artery for transporting agricultural products and for the daily commutes of the villagers. Seven companies participated in the bidding process, and the project was ultimately awarded to Veng Leap company, which submitted the lowest bid. The commune chief also advised the investing company that secured the project to conduct on-site studies, carefully review the contract and project conditions, and to implement the project strictly in accordance with the contract, ensuring the quality of the road. He emphasized that if the company fails to adhere to the contract terms, the commune administration will nullify the contract and bar the company from future bidding opportunities.
