Hanoi Overturns Verdict in Ba Dinh Middle School Ex-Principal Case, Orders Re-investigation
The Hanoi People's Court has overturned the initial verdict in the case of the former principal of Ba Dinh Middle School, ordering further investigation into illegal collection of extra-curricular fees due to insufficient evidence and differing interpretations.
In Vietnam's capital, Hanoi, the Hanoi People's Court, after four days of trial and deliberation, announced on the morning of September 14th the complete overturning of the initial verdict in the case of the former principal of Ba Dinh Middle School, Nguyen Thi Binh, ordering a re-investigation. This decision stems from differing interpretations of several related regulations and the fact that many pieces of evidence have yet to be clarified. The appellate court has instructed a re-investigation into the organization of extra-curricular classes, the documentation of collections and expenditures, and the responsibility of individuals who provided false information, thereby hindering the investigation process.
