In Le Myat Nar Township, Ayeyarwady Region, 15 basic education schools, including Basic Education High School (Aetapu), have been reopened as of September 18, out of 39 basic education schools that were temporarily closed due to the Ngwan River's water level rising, according to the Le Myat Nar Township Education Supervisor's Office. However, 24 basic education schools are still awaiting reopening. It is reported that firefighters, village administrators, teachers, health workers, and local residents are collectively carrying out cleaning activities inside and outside the schools, ensuring access to clean drinking water, and conducting school health programs to enable the remaining schools to reopen. It was also learned that the 39 basic education schools in Le Myat Nar Township were temporarily closed because the Ngwan River's embankment became low, and water overflowed due to water flowing through the sandy riverbed.
