Vietnam Eases Credit Controls: LDR Formula Revision Aims to Boost Lending Capacity

The State Bank of Vietnam has revised the Loan-to-Deposit Ratio (LDR) calculation formula, effective May 15, 2026. By allowing a portion of State Treasury deposits to be included in the calculation, the policy aims to increase lending capacity for commercial banks, particularly state-owned ones, to support economic growth.
