Ayeyawady Region Chief Minister U Aye Kyaw on Saturday inspected the damaged section of the Ngawun Dam in Laymyethna Township and reviewed flood prevention and rescue operations. The Chief Minister and officials inspected the flood-affected areas and visited the dam breach site, where repair teams were working to block water flow using sandbags, and other barriers. Officials from the Irrigation and Water Utilization Management Department explained ongoing efforts to reduce water flow and strengthen the damaged embankment. Due to the dam breach, over 8,300 people from more than 1,700 households in Laymyethna Township have been relocated to safer areas.
