Onion prices rise in Magway

In Magway city, red onion prices, which were previously around 4,000 kyats per viss, have now risen to about 7,000 kyats per viss, according to red onion sellers. In the markets within Magway city, red onions are being sold at a minimum of around 6,000 kyats per viss and a maximum of around 7,000 kyats. The red onions being sold in the markets are of the Chaung variety, and they are produced in areas such as Yannanchaung, Seikpyu, and Yannaseik within the Magway region. Sellers also analyze that the new onion harvest season will only be around the upcoming Tazaungmon festival, and prices may decrease during the new harvest season. Red onion prices began to rise in June and are still continuing to rise at the present time.
