Cambodia's Takeo Province Continues Road Infrastructure Maintenance for Traffic Safety

In Takeo Province, southern Cambodia, the Provincial Department of Public Works and Transport continued its efforts on September 11 to maintain and repair road infrastructure along several key routes. This initiative aims to ensure traffic safety and facilitate the economic activities of residents. According to Provincial Department Director Nop Nee, technical teams and specialists are actively engaged in work across the province's main road network, including National Road 3 (NR3), Provincial Road 1TK1, Provincial Road 1TK6, Provincial Road 129, and National Road 41 (NR41). Specific activities include painting bridge abutments and cleaning road furniture on NR3, asphalt paving and pothole repair on PR1TK1, and similar repair work on PR1TK6. On PR1TK6, foundation layer repair and pothole filling are being carried out between PK00+000 and PK03+000. On PR129, an additional 200 meters of M30 crushed stone laying and compaction have been completed, bringing the total to 600 meters out of a planned 1,400 meters (from PK02+600 to PK04+000). Regular inspections and data collection of road furniture are also being conducted on NR41. Director Nop Nee emphasized that maintaining and repairing road and bridge infrastructure is a top priority for the department, requiring daily attention. He stated that the department is committed to prompt action to prevent severe road damage, thereby ensuring travel safety, preventing traffic accidents, and supporting the swift and cost-effective transportation of citizens' agricultural products. The director also appealed to drivers and vehicle owners to cooperate in preserving public assets by reducing overloading and driving cautiously through active construction sites.
