Placement Test for students of schools unable to open, teachers with 2 years of service eligible to apply for transfer and promotion

It is learned that students from schools that are unable to open will be able to take a placement test under a special program, and teachers who have completed two years of service will be eligible to apply for transfer and promotion. This was stated in response by the relevant education department through the Bago Region Assembly to a star question raised by U Nyan Win, the representative of Constituency (1) of Zigon Township in the Bago Region Assembly, asking how students from schools that are unable to open will be taught in the future, and how teachers from schools that are unable to open will be temporarily assigned to other suitable schools. A star question is a question asked by a member of parliament to which the relevant department replies in writing. In relation to the representative's question, it was answered that for children of school age from basic education schools, private schools, and monastic education schools who are out of school for various reasons from the 2021-2022 academic year, the Ministry of Education, in accordance with its guidelines, will conduct a placement test in various townships from June 15, 2026, to June 20, 2026, as a special program to enable students from schools that are unable to open to continue their future education in the designated grades according to their age. Furthermore, it was answered that teachers from schools that are unable to open will be eligible to apply for transfer/promotion upon completion of two years of service in their current position, and that teachers who have not been transferred and teachers who have not yet been eligible to apply for transfer due to not meeting the service period will be temporarily assigned to work in schools that are open.
