Cambodia Prioritizes Human Capital Development as Key to National Progress, Prime Minister States

Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Samdech Moha Bovor Thipadei Hun Manet, stated that educational and training institutions, both public and private, are rapidly developing, and the quality of education and training has also seen remarkable progress. This is reflected in the increasing number of Cambodian students participating and winning awards in skills competitions in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) at both regional and global levels. Speaking at the graduation ceremony for laureates of the University of South-East Asia on the morning of July 21, 2026, in Siem Reap province, the Prime Minister emphasized that the government has always considered "people" as an indispensable resource for national socio-economic development. The government strives to equip Cambodian citizens, especially youth and children, with broad knowledge, genuine skills, morality, discipline, and robust physical and mental health. This is aimed at better and more timely responses to the demands of national development, the labor market, and the defense of the motherland. In this regard, the government of the 7th legislature of the National Assembly continues to accelerate the reform of the education and vocational training sectors in Cambodia to be more effective, efficient, and equitable. This is being achieved through the study and implementation of reform policies, strategies, and programs in all forms, aiming to fully harness the potential of the "demographic dividend" that Cambodia is currently experiencing.
