In Karenni State, the military junta has been conducting airstrikes in various forms as part of an operation during August and September, according to the IEC. In Loikaw Township, on September 19th, the military indiscriminately attacked a refugee camp with a drone, resulting in injuries to one woman. Similarly, on September 16th, the military attacked a dormitory for orphans in western Demoso with a drone, resulting in the death of a nine-year-old boy and injuries to three others. "Based on the information we have, we were aware that the military would increase bombing from aircraft, especially this month. We believe this is why it was carried out. The main reason is that we have heard that there is a plan for an operation within 60 to 90 days. It can be roughly said that they have an operation," said Banyar Khun Aung, Secretary-2 of the Karenni State Interim Governing Council (IEC), to the Ayeyarwaddy Times. Currently, ground offensives and clashes are also occurring within Karenni State, and the military is continuously carrying out suicide drone attacks and airstrikes by aircraft. Furthermore, on September 14th and 15th, the military conducted airstrikes for two consecutive days in a location in western Demoso, Karenni State, resulting in the death of one man and the destruction of two houses. In August, nine civilians were killed and up to 43 were injured in Karenni State due to the military's airstrikes, shelling, and killings targeting civilians, according to the Karenni Human Rights Group (KnHRG).
