Cambodia Seeks to Leverage Korean Expertise for Green Growth, Collaborating with ASEAN Neighbors

Cambodia, Vietnam, and Laos have organized a workshop titled "Financing Green Growth in Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia: Korean Experience and Regional Cooperation Opportunities" in Gia Lai Province, Vietnam. The workshop was jointly organized by the Royal Academy of Cambodia, the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, the Lao Academy of Social Sciences and Economics, and the Korea Environment Institute. The objective is to share experiences and explore opportunities for strengthening regional cooperation to promote sustainable economic development and environmentally conscious practices. The discussions specifically focused on South Korea's experience in financing green growth. The aim is to explore cooperation mechanisms and opportunities among Cambodia, Vietnam, and Laos to foster economic development that balances economic growth with environmental protection. The workshop also served as a platform for exchanging knowledge, experiences, and perspectives among research institutions and stakeholders. This is expected to contribute to defining and enhancing regional cooperation in the areas of green growth and sustainable development. Through this collaboration, the four institutions anticipate strengthening institutional relations and exchanging experiences to find appropriate economic development solutions that address the environmental challenges facing the region. This initiative highlights Cambodia's efforts to leverage international expertise and regional cooperation in its pursuit of balancing economic development with environmental conservation.
