Strong winds and tornadoes have occurred in Yangon, Ayeyarwady, and Mon states, causing houses to collapse and trees to fall, according to the Myanmar Fire Brigade. Around 1:30 PM on July 5, strong winds hit Tapattgyi village in the Inma village tract of Pantanaw Township, Ayeyarwady Region, causing the under-construction KG school building at Basic Education Primary School (Tapattgyi) to collapse. The Pantanaw Township Fire Brigade, in cooperation with relevant organizations, carried out clearing operations, it was reported. Around 5:00 PM on the same day, strong winds and rain hit the eastern part of Aye Thayar village in the Sanpechaung village tract of Thongwa Township, Yangon Region, causing damage to the roofs of houses. The Thongwa Township Fire Brigade carried out clearing operations. Similarly, around 7:30 PM on the same day, a tornado hit the Kada ward of Paung Township, Mon State, and Paung Township firefighters carried out clearing operations. It was also reported that around 8:30 PM on the same day, a tornado hit Boethoe village in the Boethoe village tract of Ukkan town, Tai Chi Township, Yangon Region, damaging about 30 houses, and Ukkan Township firefighters carried out clearing operations. Furthermore, around 6:00 PM on the same day, strong winds hit Thaikgone village in the Mailu Gony village tract of Kwin Chaung Gony Township, Yangon Region, causing damage to the roofs of 4 houses. Kwin Chaung Gony Township firefighters provided clearing services. Around 4:30 AM on July 6, strong winds hit the Nyaung Pin Chaung village in Mawlamyine Township, Mon State, causing trees to fall and roofs to be damaged.
