Thailand Approves New Foreign Deportation Rules with Six Grounds for Removal

BANGKOK – Thailand’s lawmakers have officially approved a new set of draft regulations to govern the deportation of foreign nationals. This milestone decision marks the creation of Thailand’s first unified administrative framework for removing individuals who violate national laws. Government officials hope this updated legal pathway will significantly speed up the expulsion process for criminal offenders and others who breach the country's laws. The new regulations specify six concrete grounds for the deportation of foreigners who break the law in Thailand.
