New School Year Begins in Truong Sa Islands, Highlighting Educational Focus

On the morning of September 5th, alongside students across the country, the 2026-2027 academic year commenced. Opening ceremonies were held in a solemn and vibrant atmosphere at four primary schools in the Truong Sa Islands (South China Sea). This event suggests the Vietnamese government's efforts to promote educational equality nationwide and strengthen investment in remote and strategically important areas. The enhancement of education in the Truong Sa Islands is positioned as part of the social infrastructure development in the islands claimed by Vietnam in the South China Sea. Continuous efforts are being made in these regions to establish living foundations and improve the living standards of residents. The focus on education can be seen as an aspect of Vietnam's national strategy under its one-party system, aiming for the cultivation of future generations and the sustainable development of local communities. Furthermore, on the same day, the Prime Minister attended the opening ceremony of an inter-level boarding school in a border area, demonstrating the government's strong commitment to rectifying disparities in educational quality between regions. This is part of the concrete measures to achieve the goal of "making the country rich and the people strong" advocated by the Communist Party of Vietnam. Expanding investment in the education sector is also considered important from the perspective of nurturing human capital to support economic growth. Additionally, a congratulatory message from the President to the education sector served as encouragement for students and faculty welcoming the new school year, while also reaffirming the high recognition of education's importance by the national leadership.
