Preah Sihanouk Province Inspects Two Proposed QIP Investment Projects

In Cambodia's southern key port city of Preah Sihanouk, Deputy Governor Long Dimang conducted an on-site inspection of two proposed factory construction sites under consideration for registration as Qualified Investment Projects (QIPs). The inspection, held on July 14, 2026, focused on a plywood manufacturing plant and an animal feed manufacturing plant slated for development in Samaki and Choeng Kor communes, Prey Nob district. In his capacity as Vice Chairman of the Provincial Investment Committee, Deputy Governor Dimang emphasized the need to understand and resolve challenges faced by investors. He instructed local authorities and relevant ministries to facilitate smooth business operations for investors, stressing the importance of maintaining good relations, streamlining procedures, and providing ongoing consultation. Furthermore, Deputy Governor Dimang encouraged the existing investors to actively attract other investors to the province. He also called for prioritizing local employment opportunities, ensuring proper enrollment in the social security system (B.S.S.), addressing sanitation, environmental, and social concerns, developing emergency response plans for accidents, designing factory facilities with adequate ventilation, safe exits, and sufficient fire-fighting equipment, and promoting tree planting within the factory premises for employee comfort. The provincial administration pledged to provide transparent support to investors. This initiative reflects Cambodia's broader economic diversification policy and leverages Preah Sihanouk's port infrastructure and special economic zone advantages to attract foreign investment.
