Union Minister for Home Affairs of Myanmar, Lieutenant General Kyaw Win Shwe, attended and delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of the 2026 Global Public Security Cooperation Forum (Lianyungang) held in Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province, the People's Republic of China. The forum this year was hosted by the China Association for Friendship and was held under the main theme of "Unite to Advance Public Security Governance, Bring Stability to a Turbulent World," with over 2100 representatives from 139 countries, regions, and international organizations in attendance. In his speech, the Union Minister for Home Affairs highlighted the promotion of cooperation in public security, the rule of law, and combating cross-border crimes both regionally and globally, as well as accelerating positive cooperation in the fields of drug control and counter-terrorism. During the current forum, eight main sub-forums are also being held to address the concerns of the international community, including migration management, international drug control, counter-terrorism, cybersecurity, public security technology and equipment, international police educational cooperation, travel security, and international security services. Furthermore, during the forum, the "Global Public Security Index Report (2025-2026)" and the "Global Public Security Cooperation Forum (Lianyungang) Annual Report (2025-2026)" will be released, and attendees will also visit the 3rd Public Security Technology Exhibition. The Global Public Security Cooperation Forum (Lianyungang) was initiated in 2022, and with the support of the Ministry of Public Security of China, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and various organizations, practical security cooperation among member countries is being continuously promoted.
