YANGON, July 8 An attack on a military column of the State Administration Council (SAC) that entered Lwe Yin Mingalar village in Mawbi Township, Hpakant District, Karenni State, resulted in numerous casualties and the seizure of some weapons and ammunition, according to a source from the Karenni revolution who spoke to Yangon Khit Thit Media. From July 6th to July 8th, the SAC troops stationed in Mawbi Township on the Shan-Karenni border utilized their conscripted soldiers to launch a large-scale military advance into Lwe Yin Mingalar village. In response, the joint forces of the Karenni revolution engaged in fierce fighting daily, resulting in a significant number of casualties among the SAC troops. Additionally, some weapons and ammunition were seized from the SAC troops. "Fighting has been ongoing in Lwe Yin Mingalar village from the 6th and 7th until today. It has been very intense. They are probing with waves of soldiers. They engage, suffer losses, retreat, and then advance again. We have also seized weapons, ammunition, and icons during the fighting. On previous days, we captured a white reconnaissance drone belonging to the military. All the dead are soldiers. We don't know the exact number," the Karenni revolution source told Yangon Khit Thit Media. On July 2nd, a military column advanced into Lwe Yin Mingalar village in Mawbi Township, and Karenni revolutionary forces attacked a building occupied by SAC troops with drones, resulting in one SAC soldier killed and three injured. This attack was a joint operation by Hpakant PDF Battalion 1006, Mawbi PDF Battalion 1001, and Falcon Wings, according to a statement released by Hpakant PDF Battalion 1006. Similarly, on June 28th, revolutionary forces launched an offensive attack on a SAC guard post in Mawbi Township, resulting in casualties among SAC troops, and the seizure of soldiers' bodies, prisoners of war, and weapons and ammunition. Due to the high number of casualties among SAC troops in Mawbi Township, reinforcements are being brought in from Hpakant and Penlaung, including PNO People's Militia, and troops from the No. 102 Infantry Regiment based in Ngwetaung, Karenni State, and units based in Loikaw Township.
