Cambodia Enhances Journalism Quality with AI Training
The Digital Technology Academy of Cambodia, in collaboration with the Club of Journalists of Cambodia, conducted a training on ethical AI usage and its application in journalism for approximately 143 journalists. The initiative aims to promote digitalization and combat misinformation.
The Digital Technology Academy of Cambodia, in cooperation with the Club of Journalists of Cambodia, organized a training course on "Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Digital Journalism in Cambodia" on July 28, 2026. The training was attended by approximately 143 members of the Club of Journalists of Cambodia from 82 media institutions, presided over by H.E. Hak Sokheng, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications, with the participation of esteemed trainers from the Digital Technology Academy of Cambodia. H.E. Hak Sokheng stated that the training course was meticulously designed to focus on the ethical use of artificial intelligence and maximizing its benefits to enhance work efficiency. This includes capabilities in content creation, article writing, content editing, generating images, audio, and short videos, thereby making news content production more diverse and faster. Furthermore, it emphasizes using AI for data retrieval, data analysis, and employing technological tools to identify fake news or deceptive images/videos, in response to the rapid evolution of technology, particularly in the digital journalism sector. The knowledge and skills acquired by the participants from this training course will serve as valuable capital and can be directly applied at their respective institutions to accelerate and improve work efficiency, contributing to the progress of digital transformation. The Digital Technology Academy of Cambodia will continue to strengthen and expand its close cooperation with the Club of Journalists of Cambodia and relevant institutions in organizing continuous training programs on new and advanced digital skills, ensuring that our digital journalists possess adequate knowledge and expertise. It is worth noting that this training course was organized with the objective of providing members of the Club of Journalists of Cambodia with training and enhancing their digital skills, especially in the use of artificial intelligence, to assist in increasing productivity and efficiency in the digital journalism sector in Cambodia.
