Magnitude 4 Earthquake Jolts Southern Leyte Town

A magnitude 4 earthquake jolted the Southern Leyte town on Monday morning, the state seismologists reported. According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), the earthquake, which was tectonic of origin, occurred around 6:22 a.m. Its epicenter was located 14 kilometers southeast of Sogod, Southern Leyte, with a depth of 14 kilometers. Phivolcs said that no tsunami threat was expected from the earthquake. No damage was reported from the tremor.
