Vietnam Scooter Fest 2026 to Showcase Rare Vintage Vespas

The Vietnam Scooter Fest 2026 (VSF 2026), set to be one of the largest scooter enthusiast events in Vietnam, will take place on August 8-9 in Ho Chi Minh City. The festival is expected to showcase a collection of rare vintage Vespa models, spanning the brand's 80-year history from 1946 to 2026. These rare models, manufactured between 1946 and 1990, are being gathered from collectors and enthusiasts across Vietnam. "Each enthusiast typically owns only one or a few models. At this event, we want to connect and display a collection of outstanding Vespa dòng từ quá khứ đến hiện tại, like a miniature museum for everyone to visit," said Mr. Hoang Cuong, a representative of the VSF 2026 organizing committee. VSF 2026 aims to connect the scooter community – two-wheeled vehicles characterized by a flat footboard and an engine located behind or under the seat – and is poised to be the largest event of its kind in Vietnam to date. The core of this community consists of Vespa enthusiasts, alongside those who appreciate Lambretta and other brands. A key highlight of VSF 2026 will be the exhibition of not only original models produced in the 1940s and 50s but also a variety of customized builds. Vespa Vietnam will also introduce a series of special anniversary editions for the Sprint model, commemorating 80 years of the brand. In addition to judging for original ('zin') and customized vehicles, the event will feature an auction of various artifacts to raise funds for charity, which will be used for community projects in Vietnam. The event expects participation from Vespa clubs and groups from Thailand and the Philippines, and a space recreating the atmosphere of "old Saigon" is planned. Vespa is a motorcycle brand under the Italian group Piaggio. The first Vespa models appeared in Vietnam around 1954, brought by the French and merchants. With its fashionable, elegant design and rich brand history, Vespa commands a large following worldwide. In Vietnam, there are numerous Vespa enthusiast clubs and groups, predominantly located in Ho Chi Minh City. For new vehicles, Vespa positions its products in the premium segment, with prices higher than the market average. The most accessible model is the Sprint, starting from VND 85.9 million.
