National Assembly President Tran Thanh Man Pays Tribute to Lao Counterpart

On the afternoon of August 9, in Vientiane, Laos, Politburo member and President of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man, led a high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese Party and State, paid tribute to Politburo member and President of the Lao National Assembly Xaysomphone Phomvihane. The visit served as an opportunity to reaffirm the special friendship and strategic partnership that Vietnam and Laos have cultivated over many years. Vietnam's delegation expressed condolences while also touching upon the strengthening of defense and security cooperation between the two countries. Vietnam had previously declared two days of national mourning for the passing of the Lao National Assembly President, demonstrating solidarity with Laos during its period of grief.
