The Bukidnon Airport construction project in the Philippines is set to be completed by 2027 with a total investment of P3.17 billion. This initiative is expected to boost the region's economy and improve logistics efficiency.

QUEZON, Bukidnon — Executive Secretary Ralph Recto announced a proposed P300 million allocation under the 2027 national budget to finally complete the long-awaited Bukidnon Airport in the municipality of Don Carlos. Recto announced this during his visit here last Friday, September 4, where he also led the distribution of rice aid and Local Government Support Funds (LGSF), and awarded P20,000 each to 155 college students from the town’s 31 barangays as presidential scholars under the Socio-Civic Projects Fund (SCPF). Following his engagement in Quezon, Recto personally inspected the ongoing construction of the airport facility. He emphasized that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has issued a strict directive to finish the project without delay, ensuring it will not be left idle. The fresh P300 million funding brings the Marcos administration’s total financial commitment to the project to P1.36 billion, pushing the overall government investment in the airport to P3.17 billion. Designed to accommodate commercial jet aircraft such as the Airbus A320, the strategic transport hub features a 2,100-meter runway, a six-aircraft apron, and a modern passenger terminal that can serve up to 425 passengers at a time. National and local leaders underscored that once operational, the facility will directly link Bukidnon to major tourism and business centers nationwide. Officials noted it will significantly accelerate the transport of prime agricultural products—including pineapples, bananas, corn, coffee, sugar, and livestock—to larger markets while driving regional investments and creating local employment opportunities.
