Myanmar-Laos Discuss to Boost Goods Flow

The two heads of state held discussions regarding the promotion of goods flow and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries through the Myanmar-Laos Friendship Bridge, as well as cooperation in other areas. The discussions took place when the President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, who is on a goodwill visit to Laos, was welcomed by the President of Laos, Mr. Thongloun Sisoulith, with an honor guard at the Presidential Palace on the morning of July 3. It is reported that during the discussions, the establishment of the Myanmar-Laos Friendship Association and the Laos-Myanmar Friendship Association, the status of efforts to promote bilateral cooperation, the status of efforts to promote cooperation between the two parliaments, and the status of efforts to promote mutual trade were discussed. Furthermore, discussions were held on the status of cooperation for the development of the defense, tourism, and production sectors, as well as the status of cooperation for the development of the lives of the people in the border areas and for stability and peace in the border areas. It was also learned that discussions were held regarding the status of ongoing cleanup operations by Myanmar to eradicate online gambling businesses, the systematic destruction of confiscated items related to online gambling, the systematic demolition and destruction of illegal structures, and the status of cooperation between the two countries to eradicate online gambling, as well as the status of continued efforts to enhance friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
