Cambodia Urges AFWA to Push for Wage Hikes in Bangladesh and Sri Lanka

Members of Cambodia's Minimum Wage Council have urged the Asia Floor Wage Alliance (AFWA) to intensify its wage hike campaigns in countries like Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, where wages are significantly lower than in Cambodia. Cambodia's current minimum wage stands at approximately $230 per month, considerably higher than Bangladesh's roughly $90 and Sri Lanka's $100. Council members argue that if AFWA is genuinely committed to supporting workers, it should focus on addressing wage disparities across the region.
