Top Vietnamese Legislator Calls for Stronger Legislative Cooperation with China

Vietnam's National Assembly (NA) Standing Vice Chairman has called for strengthening legislative cooperation with China. This statement comes in the context of the two countries sharing geographical proximity, numerous cultural similarities, and complementary agricultural resources. The Vice Chairman noted that based on China's development experience and Vietnam's 40 years of 'Doi Moi' (Renewal) policy, both parties share profound similarities in steadfastly adhering to revolutionary ideals, starting from objective realities, centering the people, and continuously pursuing innovation and creativity. During the visit to China, the Vietnamese delegation inspected the High People's Court of Sichuan Province, the Tianfu New Area People's Court, and the Jiezi Tourism and Environmental Protection Court under the Chongzhou People's Court. These visits are considered part of exploring the potential for cooperation in judicial systems and law enforcement between the two countries. Under its one-party system, Vietnam is promoting socio-economic development. Strengthening relations with China, in particular, is seen as a crucial strategic element in accelerating economic growth and expanding its regional influence. Enhanced legislative cooperation could contribute to harmonizing legal systems between the two countries and facilitating economic integration. Furthermore, Vietnam has been deepening its relations with countries such as the United States, Thailand, and Slovakia in recent years, pursuing a foreign policy that balances its national interests while engaging with the international community.
