Bandung City Seals Unlicensed Videotron Linked to Illegal Tree Felling

Bandung City's Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) has sealed an unlicensed videotron located at the SixNine Padel complex. The action was taken as a consequence of the illegal felling of 10 trees within the same complex. Officials confirmed that the videotron lacked the necessary advertising permit. Eyewitnesses reported seeing the videotron at SixNine Padel cordoned off with Satpol PP tape. Bambang Sukardi, Head of the Bandung City Public Order Agency, stated that an investigation revealed the videotron did not possess an Advertising Operation Permit (IPR). "Today, we are following up on the investigation process. Based on the investigation report, today we are sealing the videotron because its permit has not been issued, and this is a follow-up to the felling of 10 trees on Jalan LLRE Martadinata," Bambang said on Wednesday (5/8/2026). SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Bambang clarified that only the videotron was sealed, and the padel building and cafe within the complex were not affected as they have complete and valid permits. "As we have conveyed based on the investigation report, this is due to the violation of tree felling. The presence of the padel building itself is not the main issue. Why? Because its permits are complete, feel free to proceed," he stated. "Therefore, we are not disturbing the padel building. We are only sealing this videotron, which is attached to the padel building," he added. When asked about the duration of the sealing, Bambang indicated that the agency is currently focused on enforcing regulations related to the illegal tree felling. The fate of the videotron will depend on further developments from the relevant technical agencies. "The sealing is because the permit process is not yet complete. Whether this will continue with formal permitting, we will see the progress from the responsible technical department regarding the future of this videotron. But the most important thing we have done is enforce the regional regulation," he concluded.
