Heavy Thunderstorms Forecast for Thailand This Weekend, Especially Bangkok and Southern Regions

Thailand’s Meteorological Department has issued a fresh warning for heavy to very heavy rain across the country this weekend. The department stated that a southward shift of the monsoon trough, combined with a strengthening southwest monsoon, is expected to bring intense rainfall to many provinces. Notably, Bangkok and its surrounding areas, along with southern provinces, could experience thunderstorms covering about 70 percent of their regions. Authorities are urging residents in these areas to be cautious due to the potential risks of flooding and landslides.
