Bus Company Denies Viral Video of Jokowi's Speech Played on Bus Horns

A video circulating on social media in Indonesia, which appears to show buses playing a snippet of President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) speech, "I will fight!", through their horns, has prompted clarification from bus company MTrans. The company has stated that the video is an audio edit and their actual horn usage adheres to regulations. MTrans' Human Resources Development (HRD) representative, Jhony Sasongko, confirmed that the buses featured in the viral video operate on the Blitar-Jakarta (Poris) route. He assured that a thorough check was conducted not only on the vehicles in the video but also on MTrans' entire fleet to ensure no horn modifications violate regulations. He emphasized that MTrans enforces strict regulations and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for fleet operations, including horn standards, and stated that the video is not "100 percent true." Addressing the prevalence of manipulated content on social media, Sasongko urged netizens and the general public to be more discerning and careful when consuming digital information, especially viral content concerning rule violations or modifications. "We hope netizens can be wiser in seeing that not all videos spread are true, especially viral matters regarding rule violations or horn modifications," he conveyed. He also extended a special message to the bus enthusiast community (Busmania), encouraging them to collectively foster a positive atmosphere within Indonesia's public transportation industry. "It would be better if we create a more positive atmosphere so that the general public can better appreciate and use bus transportation services. Because fundamentally, bus transportation always prioritizes safety and comfort," he added. Previously, a short video went viral showing several bus fleets from companies like PO Belvia Trans, MTrans, and Aleena Trans, traversing public roads. In the footage, the buses repeatedly sounded their horns with a repeated audio clip of Joko Widodo's distinctive speech, uttering the phrase "I will fight!" as they were greeted by bus enthusiasts along the roadside.
