Kejagung Affirms Validity of Febrie Adriansyah Case Transfer from Polri, Cites Asabri Precedent

The Inspectorate General (Jamwas) of the Attorney General's Office (Kejagung) of Indonesia has reasserted that the handling of the case involving Febrie Adriansyah, transferred from the National Police (Polri), is legally valid and legitimate. The head of Jamwas, Hendarman Manurung, stated that the transfer process was conducted in accordance with the law and is without any issues. Hendarman pointed out that such case transfers are not unprecedented, citing a previous instance where a similar transfer occurred in the corruption case involving PT Asabri (Persero), a state-owned defense industry-related company. He explained that the Asabri case transfer was carried out based on the need for cooperation between law enforcement agencies at the time and the delegation of the case to the appropriate investigative body according to its nature. The current transfer of the Febrie Adriansyah case was also decided within that framework. This statement is seen as the Attorney General's Office clearly stating its position in response to some questions and criticisms surrounding the transfer of the Febrie Adriansyah case. The Attorney General's Office intends to continue conducting appropriate investigations into the transferred case to ensure transparency and fairness in law enforcement.
