Cambodia Strengthens Investment and Trade Promotion with US-ASEAN Business Council

Cambodia and the US-ASEAN Business Council continue to strengthen their partnership to promote investment and trade in Cambodia, with the Ministry of Commerce reaffirming its commitment to supporting and protecting the interests of the private sector. On July 21, 2026, Cambodian Minister of Commerce, H.E. Cham Nimul, met with H.E. Brian D. McFeeters, President and CEO of the US-ASEAN Business Council, to discuss exploring new investment opportunities and expanding investments in Cambodia. H.E. Cham Nimul stated that the meeting reflects the continued strengthening of the partnership between Cambodia and the US business sector, aimed at promoting investment, trade, and inclusive and sustainable economic development in line with the Cambodian government's policies. Concurrently, H.E. Cham Nimul reaffirmed the Ministry of Commerce's commitment to supporting and protecting the interests of the private sector, including business people, investors, and consumers from all walks of life globally, through the reform and implementation of effective trade policies. Furthermore, H.E. Cham Nimul highlighted the Ministry of Commerce's ongoing efforts to prepare for Cambodia's upcoming graduation from Least Developed Country (LDC) status, in line with sustainable economic development goals. She also emphasized the continuous dialogue between the government and the private sector to enhance Cambodia's business, investment, and competitive environment, making it more attractive and favorable. In response, H.E. Brian D. McFeeters affirmed the US-ASEAN Business Council's commitment to strengthening cooperation with the Cambodian government and supporting the implementation of the "Pentagonal Strategy – Phase I," particularly in digital economy and human resource development, areas where American companies possess strong expertise, experience, innovation, and competitiveness.
