The Philippine House of Representatives began its direct examination of witness lawyer Karen Batu, officer in charge of the Records Division of the Office of the Ombudsman, as part of the impeachment proceedings against Vice President Sara Duterte. Lawyer James Bryan Ibrahim Alih, a senior associate at Pecabar law firm and one of the private lawyers volunteering to assist the House, led the examination.
