In Stueng district, Kampong Thom province, Cambodia, Governor Say Kimlom has strongly appealed to local residents for their cooperation in providing land and support for the construction of new roads. This appeal was made on July 7, 2026, during a meeting with residents and the inauguration ceremony for the expansion and construction of several new roads in Tra village. The governor emphasized that the residents' contribution of land, crops, and cooperation regarding other impacts is a crucial driving force for the development of their villages, and that maintenance by all residents, especially those along the roads, is essential for the realization of wide, good, and strong roads. He also urged them to cooperate for the benefit of future generations by ensuring proper drainage systems and canals to prevent early road deterioration, prohibiting illegal construction and street vending on public road reservations, preventing land disputes, and adhering to land management laws to facilitate development based on the actual needs of the residents by the provincial administration and the regional support team led by Mr. Pang Vey, Director of the Department of Agricultural Irrigation of the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology. Furthermore, the governor instructed the Tra village authorities to consider the feasibility of utilizing village funds for 2026 and 2027 and to submit development plans to the regional support team to ensure the timely completion of the new road construction. Local residents expressed their deep gratitude to the Stueng district authorities for their consistent attention to the welfare and livelihoods of the people and firmly pledged their full cooperation with the authorities in all aspects to bring the new road construction project to fruition in the near future. During this inspection, the status of the renovation and expansion of seven existing roads, totaling over 2 kilometers, located in four villages within Tra village—Liab Thong, Tra, Ta Chor, and Changsa—was assessed.
