Cambodia Vows Strong Stance Against Cyber Scams and Transnational Crimes
Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet has declared a firm stance against cyber scams and transnational crimes, vowing not to let Cambodia become a haven for criminal activities. The government plans to strengthen crackdowns on related organizations and enhance legal frameworks.
Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, stated this on the occasion of opening the International Conference on Combating Technology-Based Fraud under the theme: "Together Towards Severing the Chain and Ending Technology-Based Fraud." Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei stated that technology-based fraud is a global problem that threatens the security, order, and economy of many countries around the world, including Cambodia. Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet further emphasized that the Royal Government of Cambodia has shown a strong stance in combating technology-based fraud and transnational crimes, and will not allow Cambodian territory to become a haven for criminal activities. At the same time, the Royal Government has strengthened institutional mechanisms and legal frameworks, taking strict measures against perpetrators, facilitators, and those who provide protection or benefit from criminal networks, including asset confiscation and legal penalties, to ensure the effectiveness of crackdowns and prevention of technology-based fraud.
