Sittoung River water level exceeds warning level in Madauk

In Madauk Township, Bago Region, the Sittoung River water level has exceeded the warning level for the township, according to an announcement released by the Directorate of Meteorology and Hydrology at 8:00 AM on August 4th. The current water level of the Sittoung River in Madauk Township is over one foot above the township's warning level, and it is expected to rise by about two inches within the next 24 hours, continuing to remain above the warning level, according to the announcement. Therefore, residents living near the river and in low-lying areas within Madauk Township have been advised to evacuate to flood-free areas.
