Japan Deploys Helicopters to Combat Kalimantan Forest Fires
Japan has deployed three CH-47 Chinook helicopters to assist in extinguishing forest and peat fires (Karhutla) in Kalimantan. Flights were delayed due to thick smoke, amidst reports that approximately 600,000 hectares have been burned.
