The Indonesia Expo 2026, organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Yangon, will be held from October 30 to 31, 2026, at the Novotel Yangon Max Hotel in Yangon, Myanmar. The exhibition will feature a total of 39 Indonesian companies, educational institutions, and organizations, as well as 19 Myanmar companies designated as "Friends of Indonesia," who will also be exhibiting. Indonesia Expo 2026 is an exhibition aimed at introducing Indonesian products, promoting trade, and strengthening economic ties between Indonesia and Myanmar. With the participation of businesses from various sectors, it will not only introduce Indonesian products, services, and business capabilities to the Myanmar market but also create opportunities for mutual interaction between businesspeople from both countries. The participating Indonesian industry sectors include aviation, banking, education, traditional textiles and apparel, energy, fertilizers, consumer goods, and medical equipment and pharmaceuticals. This comprehensive participation will bring together and showcase various business fields, including services, industrial products, consumer goods, and education, at Indonesia Expo 2026. A unique feature of this year's Indonesian product exhibition is the participation of 39 Indonesian companies, educational institutions, and organizations, along with 19 companies from Myanmar participating in the "Friends of Indonesia" program. This exhibition will serve as an important platform for participants to showcase their products and services, exchange information, build business relationships, and identify potential trade and economic cooperation opportunities. "Indonesia Expo is an initiative aimed at promoting Indonesia's trade, investment, education, and tourism. This exhibition is the second one organized by the Embassy. The first was held in June 2024 at the Melia Hotel. At that time, we received considerable support from businesspeople, government officials, and diplomats. In 2026, we are striving to improve and expand our promotional activities. Therefore, Indonesia Expo 2026 will be held at the Novotel Hotel from October 30 to 31. Thirty-nine Indonesian companies will be directly exhibiting at this event. We have included a "Friends of Indonesia" category in this exhibition. Who are the "Friends of Indonesia"? 1. Myanmar companies that have partnerships and economic cooperation with Indonesia. 2. Companies or organizations that have good relations with Indonesian government officials. Therefore, I believe that this exhibition will bring opportunities in trade, investment, education, and tourism between the two countries. It will not only facilitate business discussions but also promote trade, investment, education, tourism, and people-to-people connections," said Arvinanto Soeriaatmadja, Head of the Economic Section at the Indonesian Embassy in Myanmar. Through product exhibitions, trade promotion activities, and business networking, Indonesia Expo 2026 aims to broaden awareness of Indonesian products and business opportunities within the Myanmar market. Furthermore, the exhibition will serve as a specialized promotional platform to facilitate direct interaction between Indonesian companies and potential business partners in Myanmar, contributing to the further development and strengthening of trade and economic cooperation in the future. Indonesia Expo 2026 is organized for businesspeople, the business community, media from Indonesia and Myanmar, as well as the general public to visit and learn. The exhibition provides an opportunity for participating organizations to showcase and promote their products and services, and for visitors to learn more about Indonesia's diverse industrial sectors and products. "Indonesia has been offering scholarship programs for Myanmar citizens annually, and this time, seven universities have participated. Approximately 150 Myanmar students are currently studying at these universities, most of whom have received scholarships. The primary language of instruction is English, and in addition to them, (Gadjah Mada University) and (State University of Malang), which awarded scholarships for master's programs at Yangon University, are also participating. The State University of Malang is in discussions for cooperation with the Ministry of Education and educators. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is scheduled to be signed between (Universitas Widiyatama) and Yangon University of Foreign Languages (YFL) on October 31, after which an "Indonesia Corner" will be opened at the University of Foreign Languages to introduce Indonesian language and culture.
