Phuket Beach Hotels Encroaching on Public Land Slated for Demolition Next Month

Thailand's Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment announced that demolition of hotels and shops illegally built on Phuket's beaches and national park boundaries will commence next month. Owner petitions have been rejected, with a July 9 deadline for voluntary compliance. Non-compliance will result in government-funded forced demolition at the owners' expense.
